Term 3 Begins at Aspire Farm School
The new term is well underway, and what a fantastic start it’s been at Aspire Farm School.
At our Hale Farm campus, we’ve loved seeing so many familiar faces return after the Christmas break. The brisk January weather has been a challenge, but our students have shown determination and resilience in bucketloads as we ensure the animals are well cared for in the snow and icey temperatures. Our campfires and hot chocolate have been a welcome addition to keep everyone warm as we dive back into our activities.
Additionally, we’ve started exploring the wonderful wildlife that lives on the farm with the help of local experts. A huge thank you to Phil Winter from Sussex Rural Images for guiding us in identifying habitats and teaching us how to support wildlife during the colder months. This has included setting up bird feeders to help our feathered friends through the winter. These lessons in conservation are not only exciting but also offer our students a deeper understanding of their connection to nature and the importance of protecting it.
We are also thrilled to share some exciting news: Aspire Farm School has officially expanded to a new campus at The Mac’s Farm! This award-winning, family-run farm is set in the beautiful countryside of East Sussex and is known for its dedication to sustainability, organic farming, and wildlife conservation. The Mac’s Farm is a haven for nature lovers and provides the perfect setting for our students to connect with the environment while learning practical skills.
The feedback from visiting professionals from schools across Brighton, Hove, and West Sussex has been incredibly positive, and it’s clear that the new space is set to become a hub of fun, learning, and exploration.
The pigs, guinea pigs and chickens have been soaking up the attention from our students as they begin to settle into farm life and establish routines. Watching the students (and staff) interact with the animals, care for them, and learn through hands-on experiences is a privalege and it has been a great start to Aspire Farm School at The Mac’s Farm.
Both campuses are alive with activity as we embrace this season of growth. Thank you to all the staff, families, and schools who continue to support Aspire Farm School in nurturing young minds and growing futures.
